Description Alex Richardson 2011-07-07 18:52:26 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

Whenever I receive a file from a user the transfer fails with "unknown error: 4".
When I attempt to send a file it doesn't work at all.

This only changed recently, and I'm pretty sure I didn't update Kopete between when it worked and when it didn't anymore. Might be some change in the ICQ protocol.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try to accept an incoming file transfer from any contact

Actual Results:
Unknown error: 4

Expected Results:
File transfer happens as usual

By the way, how can you enter a bug without using this wizard?

I can confirm this. Outgoing file transfers abort immediately while incoming file transfers abort with "Unknown error: 4".

I am running KDE 4.6.5 with Kopete 1.0.80.

Well I should add that this occurs only if AOL proxy is enabled.

With AOL proxy enabled, neither incoming nor outgoing file transfers work.

If AOL proxy is disabled, outgoing file transfers work fine, but incoming file transfers work fine.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
