Created attachment 61659 [details] screenshot of the clock Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux KDE 4.7 RC1's clock is now white for the time, yet the date is still black (and I gues it does not have any shadow either). Further the digits are too big or placed in an not optimal way, i.e. they touch the screen edge. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: use the clock Actual Results: bad placement inconsistent look hardly visible date Expected Results: the opposite of the actual result I'd guess, wouldn't I?

I confirm the problem. I guess there is an obvious bug somewhere. If you click on Digital clock settings and then on Custom font color, withoout touching anything else, not only does it change the color (expected) but it also changes the size of the font back to a reasonable size.
It looks much better here in kde 4.7.3. Do you still experience this issue with a recent version of KDE?
Please feel free to reopen this report if you still experience this bug on a recent version of KDE :)
Please test before closing! It's not that difficult to enable the date and see that it is still black whereas all other digits within the clock are white, at least with KDE's default theme.

Is there still a problem?
To quote myself: "enable the date and see that it is still black". Also visible here: http://kamikazow.wordpress.com/2011/12/27/very-short-4-8-first-look-from-a-users-perspective/ So yes, there is still the problem that the date is black while everything else is white and hence the date's colour is inconsistent with time's colour. Same for the timezone.
Sorry, indeed I see it now...
changing the title to be accurate
The bug only occurs in Air theme, can you check if this is true for you as well?
(In reply to comment #11) > The bug only occurs in Air theme, can you check if this is true for you as > well? Confirmed. Should this bug be re-assigned to the oxygen theme then?
yes, reassigning
Created attachment 77004 [details] Snapshot of the clock in 4.10 This is still present in 4.10 with the default plasma Air theme.
I have tracked this issue down to commit 89023825bc[1] in 'kde-runtime/desktoptheme/air/widgets'. The commit only adds a file named labeltexture.svgz. I'm not sure what it does but it appears to be unique to the Air theme. To confirm I checked out the previous commit ef1f9f9fa9 which doesn't have this issue. I then added the labeltexture.svgz file to the Air theme directory and re-loaded the theme. Somehow this issue is caused by the addition of this file. To correct the original bug report, it's the time and not the date that isn't respecting the theme colour scheme. Unfortunately this issue is still present in 4.11.
Can't confirm in Plasma 6 - the clock's color seem fine at all times.
