Description Frédéric Buclin 2011-07-04 18:19:30 UTC
This happens with kwrite in KDE 4.6.3, and also in KDE 4.7.0 RC1:

Steps to reproduce:

- launch 'kwrite', e.g. by opening an existing text file
- type Ctrl+F and enter some search criteria
- create a new file or open an existing one
- the search criteria is gone in the first file

Not only is the search criteria gone, but the first file scrolled to another
place in the document, which is 2x irritating (especially when working on very
large files). As far as I can tell, this problem never appeared in previous
releases of KDE/kwrite (e.g. in Mandriva Linux 2010.2).

I can reproduce the issue with both Mageia 1 and Fedora 15, which both run KDE 4.6.3.
Comment 2 Frédéric Buclin 2011-07-29 11:29:52 UTC
Upgrading from 4.6.3 to 4.6.5 didn't fix the problem.
Comment 3 Christoph Cullmann 2012-11-01 12:32:24 UTC
Works for me in KDE 4.9 and kate.git master.
Comment 4 Frédéric Buclin 2012-11-23 13:01:39 UTC
I can still reproduce this issue with KDE 4.9.2 but not with KDE 4.9.80. So this is now fixed. Thanks! :)
