Description Luis Gustavo 2011-06-30 16:51:08 UTC
Version: 0.0.1 (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

I realized that Kubuntu 4.11 was consuming lots of RAM without having any open program. He came to use only 1.5 Gb with firefox open. I looked in system monitor that the problem was with the file kded4, it consumed my mind. I began to observe it and saw that when the system was started, it was 5,702 k, but arrived within minutes to 80,000 k, I disabled the process, and my connection dropped ... but the memory consumption stopped! after searching the web for help and did not find anything I decided to even try. found out what causes the theft of memory is not kded4 itself, but the power manager KDE! I disabled it and Reboot the system ... everything is back to normal! kded4 in the range of 7000 to 8000K ... just do not have the possibility to set up power profiles. But the profiles that were saved before disabling power management continue to function normally. I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Reproducible: Always
