comment on the mockup: will the user understand what a "resource" is? would it be clearer (and shorter, tidier, etc) to just have "(+) Add"?

most every person i've explained the contour concept to does not understand what a "resource" is without a fair amount of explanation, which leads me to believe that the word "resource" should not appear in the UI.

I agree with this - the term 'resource' came from the semantic web and is mostly an internal name. And since it essentially means 'anything' - we shouldn't really show it to the user.

(+ Add is vague, but + Add Resource is both vague and confusing ;) )

yes, we had the discussion as well, that the user wont know what resources means. "files and contacts" are too limiting, as it could be applications, widgets etc as well.
We came up with the word "stuff" that is a bit too colloquial maybe ;)

I think we have to investigate and ask people a bit more, what words could be associated with that type.

at the moment is "items" that isn't very clear either butperhaps broad enough

Comment 8 Marco Martin 2011-07-18 12:16:49 UTC
this now is closed,
if there is a bug you reported that you think is closed is ok also if you close it yourself (me and active@ will receive an email about it anyways)
