Bugs 161438 and 253723 are old (2008) and do not address this issue.Bug 256453 touches on it but is not explicitly this problem.

The filter and search functions do not work in version 1.81. You can open the filter dialog and tool bar, but entering a phrase has no result, even if the basket whose title is in the toolbar is visible.

Filter opens the filter toolbar but does not do anything else. Entering a phrase in the Filter box does nothing.

Search does nothing except open the filter toolbar. Clicking the little binoculars does not highlight the containing basket note. It just closes the toolbar.

Changing the tag dropdown box has no effect.

The functionality in earlier versions was ideal. Entering a phrase and clicking ENTER or the binoculars would cause the entire stack to be searched and collapsed showing only the notes that contained the phrase. Now nothing happens.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Click Filter or SearchAll (big binoculars)
Tool bar appears
Enter search phrase in Filter: box
click tag box, choose one or another or none (no effects)
Key ENTER or click small binoculars

Nothing happens except the toolbar disappears.

Actual Results:  
Nothing happens except the toolbar disappears.

Expected Results:  
would cause the entire stack to be searched and collapsed showing only the notes that contained the phrase. 

Version 1.81 on KDE 4.6.0 on openSUSE 11.4 updated daily from repositories

This is the MAJOR reason for not upgrading from version 1.0.3.1! I have hundreds of Basket notes, but version 1.81 rendered them largely useless because Filter/Search no longer works. 

Solution: locate the old 1.0.3.1 installation packages for your distro and stick with them -- or use another notepad manager!

Wow, this is an old bug!

I can't comment any further on the bug as I gave up using Baskets some time after my comments and migrated all my data to Zim Desktop Wiki.
