Description stevet 2011-06-26 21:11:15 UTC
Application: kscreenlocker (2.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6"
Qt Version: 4.7.1
Operating System: Linux 2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64)"

-- Information about the crash:
Upgrade INSTALL of OPENSuSE 11.4 (64 bit) from 11.2 (64 bit) . I had uninstalled Gnome screen saver as it has a bug in it (current patch for this seemed to not have worked or I wasn't able to pick it up via Yast). So I installed the KDE screensaver controls via Yast and then set the time to 1 minute and password required to 120 seconds. I waited for the 1 minute period (to test things) and the system failed to start the screen saver -- giving the oopsie panel and ultimately coming to this one. I am in the process of recreating this with debug.

-- Backtrace:
Application: KDE Screen Locker (kscreenlocker), signal: Segmentation fault

kscreenlocker (2.0) on KDE Platform 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6" using Qt 4.7.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Allowing the system to wait the 1 minute and try to start the screen saver. And it failed just like last time.

kscreenlocker (2.0) on KDE Platform 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6" using Qt 4.7.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Waiting to see if the system would crash again after trying to obtain "
/usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kscreenlocker" that the bug system says is missing. I am unable to find the debugger code that contains this allegedgly missing library (or what it thinks exists and needs).

And, as you can see, all I have to do is wait the one minute, and it falls over every time.

kscreenlocker (2.0) on KDE Platform 4.7.2 (4.7.2) "release 5" using Qt 4.7.4

I've hibernated the system (through menu under Kickoff Application Launcher button) right after logging into it in fail-safe mode. As part of the hibernation process the screen locker is started and crashes effectively precluding system hibernation. Another way to get the locker crash is to wait for display inactivation.
