Application: kscreenlocker (2.0) KDE Platform Version: 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6" Qt Version: 4.7.1 Operating System: Linux 2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop x86_64 Distribution: "openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64)" -- Information about the crash: Upgrade INSTALL of OPENSuSE 11.4 (64 bit) from 11.2 (64 bit) . I had uninstalled Gnome screen saver as it has a bug in it (current patch for this seemed to not have worked or I wasn't able to pick it up via Yast). So I installed the KDE screensaver controls via Yast and then set the time to 1 minute and password required to 120 seconds. I waited for the 1 minute period (to test things) and the system failed to start the screen saver -- giving the oopsie panel and ultimately coming to this one. I am in the process of recreating this with debug. -- Backtrace: Application: KDE Screen Locker (kscreenlocker), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #6 XVisualIDFromVisual (visual=0x290) at Misc.c:59 #7 0x00007fd0278de887 in qt_x11_getX11InfoForWindow (xinfo=0x78abc8, att=<value optimized out>) at kernel/qwidget_x11.cpp:3060 #8 0x00007fd0278de920 in qt_x11_getX11InfoForWindow (xinfo=<value optimized out>, a=<value optimized out>) at kernel/qwidget_x11.cpp:427 #9 0x00007fd0278dfa37 in QWidgetPrivate::create_sys (this=0x78a9e0, window=121634847, initializeWindow=false, destroyOldWindow=144) at kernel/qwidget_x11.cpp:588 #10 0x00007fd027893972 in QWidget::create (this=0x7fff9c2ef8c0, window=121634847, initializeWindow=false, destroyOldWindow=true) at kernel/qwidget.cpp:1436 #11 0x000000000040fe30 in _start () Possible duplicates by query: bug 244017, bug 176014. I am unable to find the debugger code that contains this allegedgly missing library (or what it thinks exists and needs). Created attachment 71058 [details] New crash information added by DrKonqi kscreenlocker (2.0) on KDE Platform 4.7.2 (4.7.2) "release 5" using Qt 4.7.4 I've hibernated the system (through menu under Kickoff Application Launcher button) right after logging into it in fail-safe mode. As part of the hibernation process the screen locker is started and crashes effectively precluding system hibernation.
