Description bogdan 2011-06-26 17:14:05 UTC
Version: 2.1.0 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

Small attachments are sent successfully.
However, attachments over 1MB are not sent

Kmail will pop up this error:

"There were problems trying to queue the message for sending: Append failed"

In the Akonadi debug log the following message is given:

"kontact-570920802 (0x7fcd8c019dd0) 562 X-AKAPPEND 311 0 (\MimeType[message/rfc822] $QUEUED) ("PLD:HEAD[1]":352,"PLD:ENVELOPE[1]":172,"PLD:RFC822[1]":5184266,"ATR:AddressAttribute":88,"ATR:TransportAttribute":10,"ATR:SentActionAttribute":4,"ATR:DispatchModeAttribute":11,"ATR:SentBehaviourAttribute":9) {5184912}
kontact-570920802 (0x7fcd8c019dd0) + Ready for literal data (expecting 5184912 bytes)
kontact-570920802 (0x7fcd8c019dd0) 562 NO Append failed"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Append a file of a size of 2.5MB just to be sure to reproduce it.

Actual Results:
Explained in Details

Expected Results:
I expect to be able to send attachments at least of a size of 10MB

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.39.1-cfq-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Hi,

did it work after you re-logged in? I just encountered the same problem with KDE 4.7 even though I did not attach anything to the mail. Restarting KMail or Akonadi did not help. Logging out and back in again "solved" it (I'm not saying the bug is solved, it's just a work-around).

Still valid ?
Comment 3 bogdan 2012-06-14 12:17:20 UTC
I don't know. I have not used Kmail2 in a while because of the akonadi issues. I will give it a try again when the data loss bug will be solved. I like kmail, but it was too buggy to be trusted.
