Description Gérard Talbot (no longer involved) 2011-06-26 00:13:43 UTC
Version: 4.6.3 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

Testcase
http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/latest/html4/padding-applies-to-017.htm

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Load
http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/latest/html4/padding-applies-to-017.htm

Actual Results:
There is a big red rectangle

Expected Results:
There should be NO red

The padding-bottom of the inline element should overflow outside the table cell. It should not make the table box grow.

I am working on creating a better testcase for this bug and to bring up the relevant chunks/excerpts of the spec.

KDE Platform Version: 4.6.4
Konqueror version: 4.6.4
Qt Version: 4.7.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.38-10-generic-pae i686
Distribution: Kubuntu 11.04
here.

Additional testcase (still a draft though):

http://www.gtalbot.org/BrowserBugsSection/Konqueror4Bugs/Bug276491-padding-bottom-of-inline-overflow-table.html

The yellow rectangle is fully contained by the green solid border in Konqueror 4.6.4.

The yellow rectangle protrude outside of the green solid border in Firefox 5.0, Opera 11.11, Chrome 12.0.742.100.

Yellow area: padding box of inline element in table cell.

Green solid border: table border.

IE8, Firefox 5.0, Opera 11.11, Chrome 12.0.742.100 and Safari 5.0.5 pass both tests.

I have not checked in IE9.01.
