Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.3) OS: Linux How do I change the spacing of icons on the desktop when "Align to grid" is active? I am currently using Mandriva 2010 and trying out Mageia 1 and found that the icons on my desktop are spaced out much further apart than they used to be. Is there a place where this spacing can be adjusted? I tried adding this option to ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals: [DesktopIcons] DesktopGridSpacing=25,10 It made no difference. I found a workaround, which works for me because I vary rarely change the icons on my desktop: (1) Turn off the grid (2) Drag each icon to roughly the right place (3) The icon positions are saved under savedPositions in: .kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc (4) Log out of the desktop (5) Edit plasma-desktop-appletsrc to adjust the icon positions so that the vertical positions are the same and the horizontal positions are spaced equally (6) Log back into the desktop again to check the positions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Right click on desktop, select "folder View Settings", Display, Align to Grid Actual Results: Icons are spread out Expected Results: An option to adjust the spacing between icons.
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
