Note: Issue still exists after updating to KDE 4.6.4. It how ever only occurs on HTML mails.

Hi all I am really sorry about this report. I just figured out that it was all my fault. To trace down the bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260638, I created a filter which replaces all "-" with "*". As it did not work in previous kmail versions I didn't remove it and completely forgot about it. Now this bug seems to be fixed and made my email go changed :)
