Description S. Burmeister 2011-06-20 00:04:12 UTC
Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

Currently the defaults for noise reduction result in a very blurred image. I'm not sure what the defaults should be but certainly less soft.

Reproducible: Always

NR is based on wavelets theory, and work in YCrCb color space to patch right colors channels by the same way than camera take the image with electronic sensor.

Typically, Composite Red and Blue channel must be patched to reduce noise. Y channel is not affected by noise in color image.

This want mean that some combination of CR and CB settings, depending of noise type, depending of shot conditions

Something like presets can be add in this tool.

Please experiment and provide presets. Thanks in advance

As digiKam now has a Noise detection algorithm used by default to adjust YCrCb settings automatically, this entry can be considerate as fixed.
