Description Tomas 2011-06-16 11:01:40 UTC
Version: 2.6 (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

1) Plugins/Images/Metadata/Edit all Metadata shows EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata, which can be modified if picture is located via FS. If located via Nepomuk, it can be only switched between EXIF, IPTC and XMP tabs, res of functionality is simply disabled.
2) Both Name and Location are in some Nepomuk format, which tells nothing to regular user. - The very basic idea of this bus is that every single picture located by nepomuk should "behave" like located by FS when asked for detais, e.g. it should provide its correct name and location of FS.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the same picture via FS and via Nepomuk tag and compare both MetaInformation provided ("Name", "Location") and ability to edit all metadata (in menu "Plugins/Images/Metadata/Edit all Metadata")

Actual Results:
Results are different.
Note: See screenshots in attached archive.

Expected Results:
Results should be the same.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.38-8-generic
Compiler: cc

Nepomuk has been replaced with Balloo, and we've ditched the whole "Semantic Desktop" concept. Is this issue still present?
Comment 2 Andrew Crouthamel 2018-09-26 04:10:28 UTC
Hi there, this bug has been identified to be related to nepomuk, the semantic searching system in prior versions of KDE. Please note that nepomuk has been replaced by Baloo. I'm going to close this bug due to the use of the new Baloo system. Please do file a new bug for frameworks-baloo if you happen to continue having issues with search.
