At the bottom of the audio ripping dialog there is a rather inconspicuous save icon button which offers to save the settings. It's very easy to overlook. Perhaps the button should have some informative text in addition to the icon. Perhaps also in addition to this button, the user should be able to edit the default settings from the main Settings->Configure K3B… dialog.

I would like to test this, however, it does not seem to be possible to get the dialog to appear without an actual audio-cd. I do not have such cd at the moment. Unless the reporter objects, I think this can be closed as RESOLVED/NOT A BUG. As I mentioned in Comment 1, default rip settings can be saved using the save icon button at the bottom of the CD Ripping dialog. This was true back in K3b 2.0.2 and it's still true as of KDE 18.08.2.
