Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux For distribution Pardus created a utility for quick format plug-media integration in the Dolphin. It would be nice to include it in the mainline KDE4. (In reply to comment #2) > Some screenshots > http://cakirerk.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/snapshot2.png > http://cakirerk.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/snapshot6.png > http://cakirerk.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/snapshot1.png These screenshots don't load, they should have been included as attachments in this report. As the screenshots are missing, I can only judge by what I assume this does, so I suggest to better leave this to solid and udisks2 which is there to handle/abstract disk/volume management. See also the related bug#156534 (Support renaming volumes via udisks2). So once solid provides the interface to do this, all that would have to be done is to take care of the relatively easy implementation of dealing with solid's interface to support formatting volumes. udisks2 provides the Format() method to do this: http://udisks.freedesktop.org/docs/latest/gdbus-org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Block.html#gdbus-method-org-freedesktop-UDisks2-Block.Format So I'm changing the bug description and re-assigning this to solid just as bug#156534.
This bug is reported on libsolid which is the kdelibs4 version of the solid library. It is now in maintenance mode. If you think it should still be fixed in the KDE Frameworks 5 version of solid please move it to or report a bug on frameworks-solid.
