Description Uriel 2011-06-11 14:53:52 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.4)
OS: Linux

As i say, i would like the wallpaper to be transparent, or some kind of switch, that would prevent plasma from rendering the wallpaper. I Konw this isn't a bug, but i don't know, where else to say about such things. May be some one who konws how plasma works inside, could just ship a little patch that could disable palsma wallpaper. The reason is i want to use compiz wallpaer, so I need to prevent plasma from rendering it

In Kde 4.2 there was a method: I could set the background to solid black, kill plasma edit plasma-appsrc and change the wallpapercolor=0,0,0 to wallpapercolor=0,0,0,0 and it made the wallpaper transparent now it is no longer posible egz. i tried and it dose not work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) edit the plasma-desktop-appsrc and change the color from 0,0,0 to 0,0,0,0
2) see that the wallpaper isn't transparent

Actual Results:
I can't see the wallpaers from compiz

Expected Results:
i would like to see compiz wallapers rather than plasma wallpaer

I could compile plasma from sources my selve, if someone would be so kind to prepare some kind of patch

Interesting idea: Being able to have png/svg's with artwork and people being able to set the color of the background themselves. Needs transparency too
