Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.3) OS: Linux kactivitymanagerd should not be loaded if activities aren't used. If you remove kactivitymanagerd KDE still works fine. There are already on-demand services in KDE. Can't kactivitymanagerd be one of them? Reproducible: Always
KAMD is already started on demand. If you start an application that wants to use it, it starts. If you use plasma or kwin, then they are starting KAMD. If Plasma is running, then you have at least one activity, that is, you use activities.
