Go fix bug #181290 and then maybe, if I feel like it, I'll look at this.
Comment 2 Lydia Pintscher 2011-06-04 10:22:59 UTC
Kevin, this is not an acceptable way to interact with each other in KDE. We're not here to set each other ultimatums in this way. If you think the other bug is really important to fix there are about 100 different, more appropriate ways to go about this. Thanks.

Reopening.

Kevin, as maintainer of Kompare your duty is to enable Kompare development, i.e. making sure that development resources like this bug tracker are in a useful condition for any and all contributors to Kompare, especially future contributors. Marking what looks like a perfectly valid report as RESOLVED LATER for personal reasons rather than reasons relevant to the report itself means failing to do right by the Kompare project and the community it's part of.
Comment 4 Kevin Kofler 2011-06-04 17:49:49 UTC
Lydia, Eike, have you read these comments from Albert?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181290#c77
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181290#c80
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181290#c86

He has no qualms ignoring bugs from people he doesn't like, for no other reason than that he doesn't like the reporter(s). I'm just giving him a taste of his own medecine.

Bug #181290 is the subject of complaints of many of our Fedora users and I find it unacceptable that the responsible maintainer is ignoring it for personal reasons.

Some notes:
 * You are not paying me, so I'll do what makes me happy *not* what makes you happy
 * Of course you are free to ignore this bug as a personal vendetta, but marking it as resolved is just plain wrong

@Kevin: The Okular bug doesn't matter here. Okular people may or may not handle their bugs well (I've criticized them in the past as well, although about a different report), but even if they don't, that doesn't give you license to mishandle Kompare's.
