Description Antonio Rojas 2011-05-23 19:46:41 UTC
Version: 4.6 pre (using KDE 4.6.3)
OS: Linux

Using KDEPIM 4.6 RC1
Calendars become randomly unselected from the calendar list when closing and restarting kontact. Moreover, when selecting them again their color is reset to an apparently random value.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Comment 1 Sergio Martins 2011-05-23 19:56:24 UTC
Can you reproduce in standalone korganizer?

Can you find exact steps to make it 100% reproducible?
Comment 2 Antonio Rojas 2011-05-25 14:12:34 UTC
Unfortunately I can't find a way to consistently reproduce it, but it happens very often (always inside kontact)
Comment 3 Antonio Rojas 2011-06-09 08:54:17 UTC
I noticed that this happens mostly with remote .ics resources. Local ics and caldav seem to behave properly.
Comment 4 Oliver Becker 2011-06-16 09:50:07 UTC
I can confirm this bug with 4.6.0 and external Google CalDAV calendars.

The color losing is fixed, but they still get randomly unselected in 4.8 beta 2
Comment 7 felix_mauch 2012-11-20 16:39:23 UTC
Also have a similar problem here (4.9.3). But for me it's the caldav resource that misbehaves.
I have one of my collections from my OwnCloud caldav as my default calendar. (At least that's what I'm always selecting).
Coming back from standby or at bootup, all the owncloud calendars are deselected, no default calendar is set and they all have random colors.
Comment 8 Sebastien Renard 2013-12-05 22:01:00 UTC
I confirm the bug with owncloud dav ressource (KDE 4.10.4). Calendars are unselected and color change randomly.
It often happened after resuming from suspend.
Comment 9 Gerrit 2014-10-07 15:25:58 UTC
CalDAV-Calendars still get unselected in KOrganizer 4.13.3
Comment 10 Knut Hildebrandt 2015-03-16 17:02:16 UTC
Still the same here. Calendars are frequently deselected or do not show up at all. After reappearing and/or selecting them again colours are randomly reassigned.

I've got the impression this happens when internet connection is not stable and the Caldav and Carddav resources have problems to connect to my ownClowed server.

Regarding this problem I also posted to these bug reports:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330575
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328862

I'm running KDE 4.14.5 and Akondi 1.13.0 on an up-to-date Chakra Linux.

Same here.

And I think the bug I opened is linked to this one: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349869

I see the same bug: after (every?) reboot calendar colors (of 4 owncloud resourses and one local) are not the one I've chosen and set in korganizer before the shutdown.

KF5 5.15, plasma 5.4.2, qt 5.4.2, korganizer&akonadi: 15.08.2

AFAIR it worked at least most of the time with KDE4 version of korganizer, but it does not work anymore with the kf5 based one.

Achim
P.S. I would also prefer that korganizser would chose as the color default the default color given by the owncloud server (at least android and Mac calendar use them as default)

Confirm this bug. It is very annoying bug. Especially when calendar loose colour.
Comment 16 sedrubal 2015-11-18 15:22:36 UTC
Still can confirm this bug on korganizer 4.14.10 (latest on fedora 23). But I think dates and contacts disappear somtimes without restarting korganizer...

Additionally sometimes all entries of some resources (in my case ownCloud while remote icals are shown well) disappear even if the resource isn't disabled.
Comment 17 Denis Kurz 2017-06-23 20:19:13 UTC
This bug has never been confirmed for a Kontact version that is based on KDE Frameworks, except possibly a Technology Preview version 5.0.x. Those versions differ significantly from the old 4.x series. Therefore, I plan to close it in around two or three months. In the meantime, it is set to WAITINGFORINFO to give reporters the opportunity to check if it is still valid. As soon as someone confirms it for a recent version (at least 5.1, ideally even more recent), I'll gladly reopen it.

Please understand that we lack the manpower to triage bugs reported for versions almost two years beyond their end of life.
Comment 18 Achim Bohnet 2018-01-13 16:24:37 UTC
Hi, Denis,
calendar color-resets I've see/seen again and again with korganizer based on frameworks for years (kubuntu & kde neon). So I've bump Version to 5.6

If https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328862 would be implemented I would
no longer care about it ;-)

Maybe we should split the bug report into

a) calendar unselected
b) calendar colors reset to random values

?

FWIW I added b) to the bug title, to make it easier to find when reporting new bugs.
Comment 19 Olivier Churlaud 2018-01-13 19:45:22 UTC
Since Application 17.12.0, both bugs are corrected.

I think this should be closed.

see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328862, https://cgit.kde.org/korganizer.git/commit/?id=9aeb0331b6ee44c38ae6ccad8ec0d8e04b2409db for details
Comment 20 Knut Hildebrandt 2019-02-18 19:23:01 UTC
This bug should be reopened.

After the last update my two CalDAV calendars are unselected after logging out and in again. Instead of the formerly selected calendars Birthday/Anniversaries is selected.

In the moment this is installed on my machine:

Plasma: 5.15.0
Framworks: 5.55.0
Applications: 18.12.2
QT: 5.12.0
