Description Jean-Daniel Dodin 2011-05-16 18:55:19 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

Sorry, I really don't know against what product open this bug, as it's probably a Device Notifier one. I used audio cd because I had the problem truing to configure audio cd input.

In summary, I don't know how to add a line in the DN to show when an audio cd is inserted.

I *can* configure a new entry in the peripheral action menu (either from the control center or the right clic configure from DN), but this entry don't show in the DN popup.

What makes me mad is that I could one di it (adding VLC), an,d see it in the popup, but subsequent tests destroied this.

Reproducible: Didn't try

I tried to mimic existing entries (for amarok and kaffeine, the kaffeine one is working) in french:

name vlc
command line vlc cdda://

Correspondance de la propriété
Disque Optique
Available content
(contient) Audio

save to config, nothing change in the popup, even after reboot. Notice there *is* in the default system an entry for kscd that do not show neither in the popup.

Is there anywhere a file wher I could look to see how is the config stored (and possibly paste here)?
thaks

I was able to mimic the entry for Kaffeine and get an entry for kscd. It worked once, but now the entry for kscd to be an option for Audio cd upon insertion does not come up in the device notifier. The options for kaffeine and amarok come up, but the option for kscd does not come up though the conditions are set same for all the three options.

kscd itself works fine from command line,GUI. Strangely, kscd is not listed as an Audio player, but listed as a CD Player in KLauncher > Multimedia (in Opensuse). It is surprising that the dedicated AudioCD Player is not listed as Audio Player, but kaffeine and amarok and even Mplayer are. Could that have something to do this?

I clearly remember, kscd option coming up on audio cd insertion and working for me one day, but it started not coming after I changed phonon backend player and reverted. Now my backend is phonon-xine which was before.

Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond.

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!

hello,

you should probably close this bug as WONTFIX (I don't find how to do this myself), because I was probably sick when writing it so it's almost unintelligible and I have no more any audio cd nor cd reader in my box :-(

thanks
