Kopete could deliver a Real-Time messaging function as known from AIM 6.8.
RealTime IM means, that you can see every letter while someone is typing, that would be a handy function.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
