Version:           2.0.0 (using KDE 4.6.2) 
OS:                Linux

After adding new pictures to the collection one can rebuild the thumbnails on that particular albums by right clicking> Rebuild Thumbnails and digikam will rebuild all thumbnails for that particular albums.

The same could be implemented for fingerprints as well, at the moment inorder to rebuild the finger prints after adding new pictures we have to go to tools>rebuild finger prints..which rebuilds for all pictures...

Maintenance tool has the capability to run tools on selected Albums or Tags (Users select which items to process). Fingerprints as thumbnails processing are of course available in Maintenance tool with optimization options.

There is no plan to add an option in Album menu to process fingerprints in this one. As this process can take a while, it's better to delegate it into Maintenance tool.
