Description Maxim Kurnoskin 2011-05-08 23:44:44 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

If you try to play any video file whith any video player (I tried with smplayer /vlc/dragon) via opening it from Dolphin. It will fullfill your /tmp/ folder up to 100%. It will cause of unsuccessfull launch of any newly launched applications. But if you try to open same file from same smb share via GNOME or Krusader it opens ok

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
run dolphin
make sure that right panel (Properties) is runned
try to open any movie file (*.avi/mp4/mov/mpg) (i have un confirmed information from some of linux forums that it causes high network collission up to ping loss in domain network e.g http://open-suse.ru/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=compact&topic_id=2009&forum=3)
watch for gaining /tmp/ folder size

Actual Results:
I solved this problem just by diasbling Properties panel.
But it's not the really good sollution, cuz so many people just use it as default feature and it is hard to find the reason, why network/cpu/ getting so slow.

Expected Results:
Hmm.
To not download anything from network just by browsing network shares

any futher additional info about this bug I always ready to provide.

Closing because of inactivity. Please reopen if still applicable to the newest version of Dolphin.
