Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2) OS: Linux Right now, scrolling the mousewheel or using gestures on a touchpad scrolls the pages by moving the scroller in the direction of the wheel/gesture. Instead, the document/page should be scrolled in the direction of the wheel/gesture, as if the document is grabbed and dragged, much like how mobile devices work. The grab/drag metaphor is gaining traction with the explosion of mobile device usage, and even Apple is changing the scroll direction in OSX Lion. KDE should at least have the option for users to choose the scrolling metaphor they like. Reproducible: Didn't try
If you run "kcmshell4 mouse", there should be a setting "Reverse scroll direction". Could you check whether it works with the mouse wheel and/or touchpad?
(In reply to comment #1) > If you run "kcmshell4 mouse", there should be a setting "Reverse scroll > direction". Could you check whether it works with the mouse wheel and/or > touchpad? That works perfectly. I wonder if it's possible to bring that option out into System Settings.
It's already in System Settings. Let me know if you cannot find it.
There should be separate options for the scrolling behaviour of the mouse wheel and the touch pad. E.g. I want my mouse to behave “as usual”, but have the “natural scrolling” when using the touch pad. At the moment, I solved the issue by manually configuring the touch pad in ~/.Xmodmap.
