Created attachment 59685 [details] a Picture of some of the changed file names Version: unspecified OS: Linux I had my moments of panic, when I saw a folder disappear by dragging and copy -- then later at an other instance I say home folder on both home and backup copy memory card oddly renamed. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: during the installation of KDE and subsequently Dolphin i found my document files both on the memory card and home folders randomly deleted and confused with renamed folders. Actual Results: I left it at that -- took and older version (I copy all my work before traveling onto a an external hard disk) which after an initial moment of panic I reinstalled and continued with my work. in time I saw the files gone -- almost as if lumped together in a renamed few folders with particularly odd names -- like / wl.o / wl.mod.o / wl.mod.c / wl.mod.ko ... ect. Expected Results: I have lost files / entire directories / during my 2 month journey abroad and wold like to recuperated these files which are nowhere to be found -- and clear this up because i am keeping storage these modified files hoping somewhere to recuperate them and clear this mess up -- also to trust this not to recur -- it hasn't but i am sitting with that fear.. the software shouldn't have touched my files which are isolated... or so i thought on a (SD) memory card -- this from a hard disk crash -- i always seem to get caught short in loosing my work when off-line in this case not synchronized. Unfortunately, i can't help you much -- it wasn't all discovered simultaneously though it seemed to have the same signature -- installation configuration when I discovered KDE!
Are you sure the memory device filesystem was not corrupted? I've already experienced file with strange names (like yours) when the filesystem was corrupted, for example due to faulty hardware.
Did this behavior ever happen again? If not, I'll close this bug.
