Description S. Burmeister 2011-05-05 16:27:22 UTC
Version: 2.0.89 (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

If I click on an item in the message list of an online imap account kmail issues a query to akonadi in order to fetch the message. I can see the job in akonadiconsole Akonadi::ItemFetchJob.

Now in akonadiconsole I see that the job failed: Failed: Unknown error (Unable to fetch item from backend). Yet kmail does not show any of this and for the user it seems that it still tries to fetch it.

Expected behaviour: Tell the user that the request failed.

Reproducible: Always

might be related to bug #289097 ?!?
Comment 2 Denis Kurz 2016-09-24 18:22:43 UTC
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
