Description eocape 2011-04-30 05:35:02 UTC
Version: 2.1b5 (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS: MS Windows

I'm a Chinese user, under WinKDE with kile, I enter "Configure Kile" -> "Open/Save" option to set "Encoding" as "GB2312", "Encoding Detection" as "Chinese simplified", "Fallback Encoding" as "gb2312", after the settings, I edit a file which was created under Windows (it could be using gb* encodings maybe, because it cannot be displayed correctly under "UTF8"), and save it. However when I re-open it, the Chinese characters are displayed incorrectly. I switch to other encodings "GBK" and "GB18030", the symptoms are the same.

Reproducible: Didn't try

OS: WindowsNT (i386) release Windows 7
Compiler: msvc2010

I can't reproduce the mentiond problem using the attached example. I am using kile-2.1 under Linux with zh_CN.UTF-8 locale.
