Description Shen Miren 2011-04-29 17:31:02 UTC
Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

I'm using KMail on my laptop. After days running, the kio_imap4 happened to lock /home directory, and only the KMail could be 'running' ( I 'strace' it), while the other progress which have IO on /home/xxxx will goes into uninterruptible sleep( the 'D' state showed in 'top' command). Even the command 'cd /home/' by root will goes into sleep either. (And there is no way to stop/kill those progeesses!)

After exec commmand 'pkill kio_imap4', and the whole system wake up again...

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Maybe running KMail for quite a time ( < 9 days )

This happened again just now.
But when i pkill kio_imap4, and the /home directory still locked. then I 'strace kmail' and lots message wash my tty(sorry not save these message), and the /home directory unlocked.
Seems like ths BUG is kmail's.

kio_imap4 doesn't exist anymore.
