Version: 4.4.10 (using KDE 4.6.0) OS: Linux When KOrganizer is not running at all or running as a stand-alone application, opening a calendar file brings the calendar import dialog box. However, when KOrganizer is running as part of Kontact, it merely shows the task list. The contents of the calendar being opened are inaccessible. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 0. Make sure that KOrganizer is running inside Kontact. 1. Tell KOrganizer to use a new file-based calendar "calendar.ics". 2. Add an appointment to the new calendar. 3. Remove the new calendar from KOrganizer. 4. Tell Dolphin to open the file "calendar.ics". Actual Results: 1. KOrganizer creates a new file "calendar.ics". 4. KOrganizer shows the Task list. Expected Results: 4. Let KOrganizer show the content of the calendar file in a separate window. OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop Compiler: gcc Workaround: 1. Tell Kontact to quit. 2. Tell Dolphin to open "calendar.ics".
Another workaround: 1. Tell KOrganizer to add the external calender file. 2. Tell KOrganizer to copy the event to the default calendar file. 3. Tell KOrganizer to remove the external calendar file.
reassign to korg. With kdepim > 4.6, embedded and standalone korganizer have the same behaviour (show the import dialog)
I have a similar bug. Whne I try to open a calendar over sftp the kalendar simply does not contain anything. And inaddition to that the calendar name I have specified is not the name of the added calendar. Could my issue be the same as this bug report ?
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
