Version:           4.6 (using KDE 4.6.2) 
OS:                Linux

/usr/bin/akonadi_agent_launcher akonadi_maildir_resource akonadi_maildir_resource_20 process use 1.8G memory.
Library Usage:
1888928 KB	[heap]
280 KB	/usr/lib64/qt4/libQtGui.so.4.7.2
204 KB	/usr/lib64/libkdeui.so.5.6.0
100 KB	/usr/lib64/libkio.so.5.6.0
96 KB	/usr/lib64/libkdecore.so.5.6.0

I have about 10000 emails in kmail2.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
start kde

Actual Results:  
this process use 1.8G memory

Expected Results:  
use less memory

I've this with akonadi_mixedmaildir_resource. After I open a folder with 36000 mails the mem usage goes up to 1.2 GB (on x86_64).

This should be much better in the upcoming KDE 4.8, importing 240000 mails peaked at ~600MB. Once the import is done (in worst case after restarting the akonadi server), the memory usage is low (<60MB), even when accessing large folders.
