Created attachment 59059 [details] Screenshot of application with extremelly long name that fails to tell what it wants. Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.1) OS: Linux When trying to save an wireless access point configuration, KDE will present me with a dialogue telling that I need a password. But it doesn't specify which password it wants. It has to tell some information about what it wants. It currently reads: "An application is attempting to perform an action that requires privileges. Authentication is required to perform this action." So as I authenticate as what? Root, current user, guest? :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start nm-applet, right click on its applet to get a menu, choose "edit connections". Go to wireless tab, choose "Add" and add some data, check the "Available to all users" box and try to save.
I found something similar with Google: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618543
This bug is still valid and with systemd dbus api and polkit very annoying. See also https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15124
Hello, This problem still exists with Plasma 5.15.4 The dialog window needs to present a field with the user who authentication is wanted. This is the case with polkit agents from Gnome or LXQt. See https://www.mageialinux-online.org/forum/topic-27747-1+quel-mot-de-passe-faut-il-taper-e.php#m271691
In 6.3 the auth account is shown in the dialog.
