- What I was doing when the application crashed: The system had been updated with a large number of updates 370MB one of which was the video driver. This might be significant since my display a dell u2711 was being run less than its full resolution (presumably due to a driver restriction). The problem started when the system was rebooted after the update.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
