Description Nick Thompson 2001-06-12 15:39:57 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: klauncher
Version: KDE 2.2.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.2
OS: Solaris
OS/Compiler notes: Sparc/Solaris8

Since last week when I last updated to CVS klauncher now dies at startup of KDE. I see a message like:

Nick-> startkde
_KDE_IceTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.ICE-unix should be set to root
DCOPServer up and running.
KCrash: crashing.... crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = klauncher path = <unknown> pid = 10180
DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-10179' to 'klauncher'
ERROR: KUniqueApplication: DCOP communication error!

At this point ksplash is still on the screen and the crash dialogue appears but KDE gets no further (no big supprise). The only info in the crash traceback is about the crash dialogue itself.

I'm currently reduced to using twm ~:-o

I see that there has been a lot of change in klauncher.cpp in the last 5 days So I suspect something it there.

Can you try the attached patch?
