Description kk 2001-06-12 08:34:54 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konsole
Version: 1.0.1 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS: Linux 2.4.0 i686
OS/Compiler notes:

konsole is a nice shell interface. The one
thing I am missing is a screen compatible
attachment and detachment interface. That
would allow me to use my shells in a konsole
at work detach all or single shells and
reconnect to them using "screen" when online
from home with a ssh.

It is important that konsole does not implement just any detachment mechanism but
one that is compatible with "screen". On the
other hand konsole should most definitely
not copy the stupid C-A interface of screen.

I'd really like to be able to close a konsole
by accidentally pressing the window manager
close button then reconnect to my shells
when opening a new konsole.

These 2 wishes are quite similar that there's no point in having both open. Both have 90+ votes. 58868 has more comments and detailed info.
