I created a new account in KDE to try and create an IMAP account with no existing/conflicting settings. The Gmail IMAP account creation went well and it seemed to download emails from the server. However when I tried to open these emails Akonadi/Kmail crashed. Happens every time

The crash can be reproduced every time.
