when typing a filename on the keyboard, thereby moving the focus to any matching file the file should be shown at the bottom of the window. Instead the view either centre around the file or maybe show it in the top. Usually one is more interested in the files below as they are potential matches for to-be-typed letters of the file one searches for.

That's how it works in KDE Frameworks 5.45.
