Bug occours when using nvidia or vesa - however forcing the font DPI to 96 DPI (System Settings - Appearance - Fonts) appears to resolve the problem..
Comment 2 mike431t 2011-04-09 21:02:56 UTC
Just checked on my laptop and I can reproduce the bug there too...
Comment 3 Allan Sandfeld 2011-04-10 12:57:43 UTC
If changing DPI fixes it, it sounds like the web-page layout deals poorly with varying default font-sizes. KHTML internally uses a DPI of 96, the DPI setting in system-wide font settings only affect Konquerors default font-size.

Does the same problem occur in Firefox if you change the default font-size?

I don't have Firefox installed on my KDE desktop however Midori and Epiphany both render the page correctly (using XFCE and GNOME).

I've noticed that having explicitly set the DPI on my desktop machine (to 96 DPI) once something sees to 'stick', and even when I set 'force DPI' to 'disable' or change it to '120 DPI' the page continues to render correctly. No idea why. I'm not sure if Konqueror is the only application affected, but it is the only one I've noticed...

I am however still able to reproduce the problem on my laptop as I've been careful NOT to apply the workaround on that machine (see screen-shot).

Unfortunately I no longer have KDE installed on a physical machine.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem on a virtual machine (using QEMU) with a recent version of KDE (Plasma 5.14, Framework 5.54, and Qt 5.11)

I'm not able to reproduce the problem on a virtual machine (using QEMU) with a recent version of KDE (Plasma 5.14, Framework 5.54, and Qt 5.11)

However I expect that this because the the display resolution under QEMU is 96DPI (problem does not occur when the display is set to 96DPI)
