I really dislike new messenger‘s behavior of automatically grouping concurrent chat messages and it looks bad when having speech bubbles.
There should be an option to disable chat message grouping so that each message is displayed in its individual line/speech bubble.

This behaviour depens on the theme used by the user. Some themes group the messages, some don't.

Actually that's not quite true. 
We can always disable message grouping, we simply treat each message as though it's not from the same person. With some themes we can't enable grouping if it doesn't support it.

I will fix this at some point.
