Description Jaime Torres 2011-03-31 21:51:38 UTC
Version: 0.6.2 (using Devel)
OS: Linux

When I do an export to HTML, some files of the collection are avi files.
Those files show a random frame as thumbnail in the collection.
But they are not copied, neither generated a thumbnail when exported. Having to do this job by hand.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
The avi files are copied (if requested) and a thumbnail is generated for them.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.38.2
Compiler: gcc-4.5

No, I use the latest from master (2.0 beta). But I used the sendbug function from the help menu.

Using version 2.6.0 of digikam and kipi-plugins, I would like to support this request:
1. with HTML5, video and audio have got more or less the same support level as images thanks to their respective tags.
2. Digital cameras are producing since long videos as well as pictures, and I'm personally using DigiKam to manage both but struggle with the fact that I can't export videos as well as images.
3. with http://libav.org/ (formerly known as ffmpeg) there is a cross-platform library that could be used to transform videos in a web-conform format and reduce size at the same time (like for images), as well as generate thumbnails.

I also wanted to notice that bugs #130986 and #136776 are aiming at the same limitation of the HTML export.

Thanks, Eric

Can I chip in on this request? Would be really excellent to have. Thanks!
