Description kdebugzilla.rektum 2011-03-29 12:42:37 UTC
Version: 4.0 (KDE4) (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

I have a large set (several thousands) images with a relevant date written in the filename that I'd like to use in kphotoalbum. kpa doesn't offer the option to look in filename for date.

Dates are mostly in the iso format yyyy-mm-dd, but not necessarily so.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
select a file and open annotate dialog.

Actual Results:
I have to look at the file name and input the date manually.

Expected Results:
An option to tell kpa to look in filename for a date to use.

KIPI-plugins are used for adjusting time/date information. So this option should be added to the proper plugin directly. (Therefore changing the product to kipiplugins.)

Hi Gilles

I dont think its relevant to timeadjust at all. What is your opinion?

Hi

As far as I and Gilles understand, you want to extract time/date information from the filename, and then do some action upon it. However the problem is, that there is no international standard on how the date/time has to be written, and hence it is very complicated to implement. Also, we havent got many users demanding this kind of support. In case, if more people want this feature, we will reopen this, and start working on it. Till then, i have to close this under 'wontfix' option.
