Instead of the contents the following message is displayed:

"If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents
of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this
type of document."

This is actually a bug in poppler, the pdf rendering library we use, please report the bug at their bug tracker at https://bugs.freedesktop.org
