That's a problem when the widget is on the desktop. I can definetly not reproduce the problem when the widget is in the panel. That's from were it is supposed to work.

You are right, it does work in the panel correclty.

The first time i used it, i put it on the panel, but i then i though
"why in the panel?", i really thought that it was the wrong place for it,
so i put it on the desktop.

I was not aware that certain widgets can be positioned in incorrect places and not
report it, but it is another problem.

The plasma-keyobard works correctly in the panel.

I can confirm it works for the panel in these new versions:

It should not be that widgets act diffently depending on their placement. But I cannot prevent loosing the focus, when the applet is on the desktop. Sad but true.

I had a Xorg/KDE problem (already reported) in which the keyboard 'vanishes'.

This was the fist time that i could use the plasma-keyboard widget while affected with that bug. It worked.

Then i unplug and re plug the keyboard (as part of the test) and the plasma-keyboard widget stopped printing pressed characters (of couse the physical keyboard was expected to not to work due to the bug).

in normal conditions, is expected for the plasma-keyboard widget to able to cope with unpluggin and repluggin the keyboard?

Otherwise it works great.

So I'm going to close this report.
