I just tried my other Notebook of same type: same crash, On my desktop the update works fine!
What type of software update/package manager does openSUSE 11.4 integrate into System Settings? I guess it is KPackageKit, but I am not sure.
Ignore my comment... I have a fix pending. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 257704 ***
