Version: Electron(alpha 2) OS: Linux It should be awesome to provide a content downloader to get sprites and audio. Using GetHotNewStuff And discuss with http://opengameart.org/, it should be easy to have this feature. A first version can be done from http://opengameart.org. I already discuss with the webmaster, and he was agree to work with us. Reproducible: Didn't try Expected Results: provide a "Get assets" button which open a GetHotNewStuff widget with all content like sprites or sound. OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-29-generic Compiler: cc
So, GHNS should not be use... I suggest to ask the webmaster of openart, to provide a XML or Json file , which can be parse inside a gluon creator widget downloader
(In reply to comment #1) > So, GHNS should not be use... Agreed because it should be a feature from a simple Qt/QML standalone, also if you do not have GHNS installed. > I suggest to ask the webmaster of openart, to provide a XML or Json file , > which can be parse inside a gluon creator widget downloader I am not sure about that, but the place would be the Tools menu in the Creator and we need to discuss, investigate, think about it. Absolutely plan though for a while :) Assigned to leinir.
Not entirely sure why this got assigned to me, except for the point that i already discussed this with the people from OpenGameArt, and they are interested in providing an OCS interface for downloading artwork from their site. So, yup, it's in the plans :) The UI is a little different, however - the Add... menu in the Project dock would be the obvious place to put this (you add the asset from OGA rather than import it from your filesystem). But, yup, good to have it trackable - thanks for reporting :)

This project is unfortunately no longer maintained. If a new maintainer wants to step up and take care, the project is archived here: https://invent.kde.org/unmaintained/gluon You can just clone it in your private namespace on invent.kde.org and if you have started to work on it and fixed/implemented something get it reviewed and the project unarchived. Sorry for the inconveniences.
