Version: 2.0.1 (using KDE 4.4.5) OS: Linux Drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH20NST15 Media: HP DVD-R 16X 4.7Gb I get a message during burn start that says either the media or the drive does not support 16X. It then bumps it up to either 17 or 18X, even though I set it manually. I would think, that for stability reasons, it should auto adjust DOWN, not UP. I also had it auto adjust up from 18X to 20X. I can't remember if it was my 16X disc or my 18X disc, and I don't recall if I set the speed manually that time, but either way, it was adjusted at least 2X higher than the rated media maximum. Ftr, I am getting verification errors, but that is also at slower speeds, such as 8X, so I'll search other bug reports for the verification issue. Recorded video appears to play fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Insert blank disc. Drag and drop iso file (.nrg) onto K3b GUI. Select "verify written data". Select manual speed of 16X. Everything else on auto. Click 'start'. Actual Results: Action log window reports that either media or drive does not support 16X, and it bumps it up to either 17 or 18X. Verification fails, but the recorded video appears to play fine. Expected Results: The software should not increase the burn speed above the highest common speed between the media and the drive. If necessary to change it, decrease it instead.
