Description Paul Hands 2011-03-11 21:35:19 UTC
Created attachment 57886 [details]
Screenshot with affected area indicated in the red ellipse.

Version: 1.6.6 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux

The icon beside each feed has been replaced by a generic icon (blue circle on white background with turned up bottom right corner), with the exception of unreadable feeds, which have the normal (white X on a red background) icon.

This happened after the upgrade to SC 4.6.1. Prior to that, each feed had it's own individual icon.

I tried re-importing the feeds from an OPML file, after blowing away the Akregator data in ~/.kde4. I have also stopped and restarted KDE, but the problem is persistent.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Just rin Karegator with a bunch of feeds. Each feed should (and did in the previous version) have it's own individual icon, but now they don't.

Expected Results:
Akgregator should behave as it did in previous versions.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop
Compiler: gcc

you may try to delete the icons cache in /var/tmp/kdecache-<your login>/
Delete the kpc directory and icon-cache.kcache file then restart your KDE session

Christophe,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it made no difference. I tried it twice, once after a complete rcxdm stop and start, making sure that all KDE processes were killed.

Run Konqueror, open its settings and click on "Cache". Is "Use cache" enabled ?

Also look in /var/tmp/kdecache-<your login>/ is there a favicons directory ? do you have write permissions into this dir ?

All,

Apologies for long delay in updating this bug - I've been traveling with work.

I can confirm that the bug happens also with KDE 4.6.2 with Akregator 1.6.6, after an update to use the 4.6.2 SuSE repo. I did this update yesterday.

I removed the /var/tmp/kdecache files and directories, which made no difference. I then went into Konqueror, and turned cache off and restarted KDE - no difference. Restarting KDE and going back into Konqueror and turning cache back on, the Akregator icons reappeared! Problem solved.

So, it would appear that the Konqeror cache setting has some bearing on this bug. Is there anything I can do to help debug further?

Paul
