Version: 1.0.80 (using KDE 4.5.3) OS: Linux Currently, AutoAway works for Kopete, but when I use Google Chat (Jabber protocol), Google Chat doesn't have an Away setting. Setting Kopete to Away just shows in GMail as Available. In the AutoAway settings, I'd like to be able to select which status to set after X Minutes of Inactivity, so that I can create a custom Busy status and message, and pick that, so that Google Chat has this appear as "Busy" with my message of "I am away" or whatever I want. Thanks for Kopete! Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Connect Kopete to Google Chat; go to Away (auto or manual) and check you status from another Google Mail account. The first account is still marked as Available. Actual Results: The first account is still marked as Available. Expected Results: The first account should be marked as Busy but Google doesn't have this. OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.37-2-686-bigmem Compiler: cc
> Expected Results: > The first account should be marked as Busy but Google doesn't have this. My mistake; I'd like the account to be marked as Away but Google doesn't have Away, so the next best option would be Busy (which Google has), but Kopete doesn't have an Auto-Busy
While I do think this is still a valid option to request, my understanding of the mess that is Google Hangouts has been clarified. One can use an XMPP/Jabber client (Kopete, Pidgen) to chat with people on Google Talk, but anyone who is using Hangouts doesn't receive those messages. The Google Talk or Hangout people can send to the XMPP-client-user just fine.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
