Description Tobias Langner 2011-03-07 18:17:14 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

When I send a message like "blabla <-- this is interesting" then I only see "blabla" in my Kopete chat window history. The recipient of the message however receives the whole message. Similarly, when I receive a message like the above one, Kopete only displays "blabla" without the part behind the "<". The history also only shows the "blabla ". It seems that it somehow interprets the transmitted message as HTML and then discards the part after "<" as tag (or comment?) After some time (writing a few messages with "<" and ">") it suddenly transmits those characters correctly. I was not able to determine what causes the change in behavior.

If Kopete screws up transmission of "<", it also messes around with blank lines. If I write

"test
test
test"

it only displays "test test test". When "<" is transmitted correctly, suddenly the blank lines are also treated correctly.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Actual Results:
Text after "<" is not displayed. Blank lines are not transmitted correctly.

Expected Results:
Text is sent as it is entered.
