Description Jason Jackson 2011-03-07 17:32:39 UTC
Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux

KDirWatch::add with WatchDirOnly option still triggers dirty when the content of files in that directory are altered.

I used m_dirWatch->addDir(noteDir, KDirWatch::WatchDirOnly); in my applications code, and any change to the contents of the files in that directory also trigger a dirty signal, resulting in performance problems in my application.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
See https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/pim/rekollect/repository/revisions/3ed6688d2026d285a83c7f1ecf03fc8ea739e782/entry/src/notebrowserwindow.cpp line 309. I have also tried this with an explicity KDirWatch::WatchDirOnly

Actual Results:
Dirty signal was emitted when a file's contents are changed.

Expected Results:
Should only send a dirty signal when files are added or deleted from the directory, but not when a file's contents change.
