Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.1) OS: Linux At the moment kwalletd shows the following message text when something has gone wrong: There have been repeated failed attempts to gain access to a wallet. An application may be misbehaving. It would be really helpful if the message text could tell a bit more details about the failure. First of all the application (or applications) should be mentioned in the message text. If possible the reason provided by the backend should be added too. Reproducible: Always
i'm seeing the same. "There have been repeated failed attempts to gain access to a wallet. An application may be misbehaving." on multiple boxes running, kwalletmanager-4.6.2-3.3.x86_64 seeing different behaviors. sometimes just the message, sometimes the message plus re-requests for my KMAil account passwords. in the latter case, i i enter the passwords, it seems to fix the problem for a couple/few restarts, but then reappears.

This is a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=261559 .
I'm not sure this is a duplicate of bug 261559, Joseph. The reporter does not mention any errors from KMail about storing passwords in the wallet. In my case, KMail is also able to access all passworded servers with no problems, but the Wallet is regularly putting up a "repeated failed attempts" error message.
You're right Davor. The problem with kwallet is that if something went wrong it just pops up the message box "something is wrong". The user does not get a clue what might be wrong or which application caused the problem.
Does this issue has gone after fixing 254198? Could you please confirm?
The popup still says nothing useful in Plasma 5
